John Lawler Founder and ChiefJohn spent his gap year teaching in Ghana, living in a remote village in the Volta Region where he worked to build and improve education in the community. Due to his extensive work in developing this community, the village made John a chief, Torgbui Mottey I - Chief of Development. On returning from his gap year, John set up Madventurer in 1998.
Since then Madventurer has set up projects worldwide and John has himself crewed in Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania and Peru. John has a MEng in Environmental and Ecological Engineering from Newcastle University and sits on the board of the Work Abroad Association.

Rebecca Fisher Head of Global Volunteering Prior to joining Madventurer, Rebecca worked in International Marketing and Advertising for 3 years, specialising in new business, digital and the third sector.
Rebecca joined Madventurer in January 2011 as Marketing and Communications Manager and went on to spend 4 months in West Africa working on Madventurer’s volunteer projects in Ghana. Since her return to the UK in December 2011, Rebecca has headed up Madventurer's global volunteer projects and marketing and communications.
Rebecca has a Masters degree in Cross-Cultural Communication and International Relations from Newcastle University.

Lucy Jordan Crew Leader FijiPrior to becoming crew, Lucy was a volunteer with Madventurer, coaching sports and teaching in Fiji for 4 months. Lucy has crewed for Madventurer in Fiji since 2010, working with volunteers on community construction, teaching and sports coaching projects.
Lucy has a degree in Coach Education and Sports Development from the University of Bath and has travelled extensively throughout South East Asia, New Zealand and Fiji.
Elisabeth Tuck Crew Leader GhanaBefore joining Madventurer as Crew in 2012, Elisabeth volunteered on a number of different volunteer projects across Africa. She has worked in a variety of schools, childcare centres and community education projects in Ghana, Kenya and Tanzania. Elisabeth has a Masters degree in Education and International Development from Newcastle University.
Charlotte Beaumont UK Fundraising InternSince starting her internship with Madventurer in September 2010, Charlotte has worked on local and national fundraising events and is managing the organisation of this year’s local fundraising challenges.
Charlotte is in her 3rd year of her English Language degree at Newcastle University and also volunteers for the Shared Interest Society. Charlotte is spending her summer working as a lifeguard overseas
Rachael is in her 3rd year of her English Language degree at Newcastle University. Since starting her internship at Madventurer in September 2010, Rachael has worked on communications for overseas volunteers and projects and on-line and fundraising campaigns.
Rachael is the Secretary of Newcastle University’s MADSoc and Cocktail Society.
Naomi is in her 1st year of Media Production at Northumbria University. Since starting her internship in 2011, Naomi has worked on case studies and promotional videos for Madventurer. Naomi also participates in RAG week.
Sarah is in her 2nd year of her Geography degree at Newcastle University . Since beginning her internship in September 2011, she has worked on local fundraising events and helped formulate Madventurer's Adventure offering worldwirde.
