Madventurer works in partnership with a number of organisations and charities worldwide to add expertise and opportunity to our operations.

Alongside Madventurer we have our very own charity.  The MAD Foundation (Registered UK Charity No. 1111805) helps people in some of the world's poorest countries to help themselves by working with them at a grassroots level to develop much needed community resources.  MAD (Made A Difference) started back in 1998 and has helped to build:

128 classrooms, 80 toilet blocks and pit latrines, 12 pre-schools, 1 HIV clinic, 1 green house, 1 kitchen with a bread oven, 100 sinks and wash stations, 1 technical block, 8 permanent houses and 20 fishing boats destroyed by the 2004 Tsunami, 13 Water tanks, 8 playgrounds, 5 bridges, 5 chicken coops, 5 storm-drains, 2 bakeries,1 Fish farm and a guinea pig shed!   We've also planted over 25000 trees, dug and laid 25 miles of water pipeline, taught 85,000 lessons, coached 63,000 sports sessions, renovated 6 orphanages a 1 home for street kids!  And we're still counting..........

Every penny raised by the MAD Foundation directly benefits communities in the developing world, with all monies going directly to community projects for the purchase of building materials and equipment. All our running costs are absorbed by a small number of key partners and by our trustees.  Madventurer staff also donate their time for free. 

Madventurer are very proud members of the Year Out Group which is the regulatory body for the GAP year industry.  The Year Out Group includes over 35 of the leading GAP year organisations.  All members agree to adhere to specific codes of practice and member's charter.  This also includes keeping operations guidelines, risk assessments, crisis managements plans, staff training up to date.  Members also provide annual accounts and proof of adequate public liability insurance for added peace of mind.

The World Youth Student and Education Travel Confederation are the worlds largest network of youth and student travel operators. WYSE Travel Confederation is a non-for-profit association dedicated to supporting the global industry and connecting the organisations that serve millions of young people who travel to study, work and grow.

InterHealth

InterHealth is a medical charity whose aim is to maximise the potential and effectiveness of people working primarily with voluntary sector organisations, both overseas and in the UK, through the delivery of whole-person healthcare. Alongside significant health services and advice, Interhealth also have a travel clinic and travel supplies centre.

Madventurer values the assistance available from interhealth particularly with health screenings, customized travel and safety advice, telemedicine and health briefs, which ensure that the health knowledge for madventurers and crew is up-to-date and accurate. Click here to visit the site.
