Many aspire to join the fast paced, competitive world of media but to gain a career in journalism you have to be able to demonstrate that you have what it takes - that you can think outside of the box and come up with the angle that will capture the imagination of the public.

The cold reality for many people hoping to gain work experience in media involves making coffee in the smoke stained offices of the local rag, running for coffee and muffins for the ego inflated local radio DJ or competing against thousands for that one work experience slot at the BBC.
