All of Madventurer’s Projects are selected for their long-term benefits to the host community. Our focus on youth development incorporates health, education and sports development projects and our Community Building and Teaching Projects build basic infrastructure that will benefit whole communities rather than individuals.
We have 3 types of volunteer projects that you could get involved in.
Community Teaching and Building Projects
Urban Teaching, Orphanage and Medic Placements
Urban Sports Coaching Placements
The Community projects are always owned and led by the village, community or local partner organization to ensure the long-term support and involvement of the local community. This ensures the sustainability, staffing and maintenance of the project.
Our community projects run for a maximum of 6 weeks. You can opt to do the full 6, or 4, or even 2 depending on your time frame for travel and budget.
Madventurer rural projects focus on building basic infrastructure to assist local community development. Our key focus is youth development and the provision and improvement of health, education and sanitation facilities such as schools, clinics, toilets, water storage tanks, community centres, sanitation facilities etc.
Venturers also have the opportunity to teach English and other subjects in local schools as well as getting involved in extracurricular activities like sports, art, drama depending on the schools timetable and resources.
The nature of our community projects means that we rely heavily on number of volunteers as this dictates how much money we have to spend in that particular village. If we get a maximum group of 16 it means we will undertake a bigger building project like a large sanitation block or building a new classroom onto a school building. If we get around 6-8 this means we will undertake a smaller build or repair work.
Our community projects can also be topped up throughout the year form any donations made through our registered charity The Mad Foundation.

The ultimate opportunity for anyone with a passion for sport & travel, our Sports Projects allow you to utilise your skills and experience - at whatever level - to coach children and adults in the developing world.
Working with children who have never had PE lessons or structured coaching is a great opportunity to teach basic rules, techniques, skills and tactics of your favourite game to people who may never have had that privilege before.
