John Lawler, our Chief now has his dream team with Geoff Manchester, the co-founder of Intrepid, Nick Ladd of Intrepid Geurba joining the Madventurer board.

Twenty years ago Geoff or 'Manch' as we like to call him, was travelling across Africa with a bunch of friends and as the miles rolled by they developed the idea for Intrepid; small groups of people traveling the world at grassroots level and engaging with local people in an atmosphere of respect and experiencing culture without dominating it. By 1989 Intrepid was born with just two staff, one destination and 47 travellers - very similar to how Madventurer started.  

Today Intrepid take over 80,000 travellers to over 100 countries every year. Perhaps the most remarkable thing is that despite their growth, their philosophy on travel has not changed and they still hold on to the belief that the best way to experience a country is to get close to it. After two decades of creating some amazing trips and with a vast array of adventures that we can tap into it is a partnership like no other. 

With Madventurer’s experience in the field of development travel we are proud to say we will be operating all development projects for Intrepid worldwide.  Bringing together a whole mix of travellers and potential new friends from London to Australia.

PRIZE DRAW TERMS & CONDITIONS

• The prize draw promotion is open to all aged 18 and over, except for employees of Madventurer or Intrepid Travel, or any companies or agencies directly connected with the creation and administration of this promotion or their families.

• This is a free prize draw and no purchase is necessary to enter. Only one entry per entrant and email address will be recognised.

• The promotion begins on February 15^th 2008. The closing date for all entries is midnight, April 30th 2008. The winner will receive a two week building and teaching project in Cuzco and an eight day Inca Trail adventure.

• Entries received after the Closing Date will be disqualified. Entries are limited to one (1) per person. Duplicate entries or photocopies will be disqualified. Madventurer accepts no responsibility for entries lost or delayed.

• The prize does not include international flights or airport transfers. Some food and drink is provided, ask for details. The prize winners will be responsible for providing adequate travel insurance and visas.

• All entrants are asked to subscribe voluntarily to the Madventurer email newsletters. Entrants can unsubscribe at any stage, and entry to the competition is not conditional on remaining as a subscriber to the email newsletters.

• The prize winner must be one of the passengers flying. 

• The prize winners may be required to take part in publicity accompanying or resulting from this promotion.

• The prize holiday must be booked a minimum of 90 days prior to departure and is subject to availability. All completed bookings are final and any amendments will result in an additional charge.

• Travel may take place anytime in until 30 June 2009, subject to availability.

• The prize draw will take place in the offices of Madventurer. The draw will take place week commencing 5^th May 2008. The prize winner will be notified by email within 3 days of the draw taking place.

• Prize winners are required to accept their prize by email or letter within 14 days of notification. In the event of non-acceptance within the specified period, Madventurer reserves the right to reallocate the prize awarded to the next randomly-drawn valid entry (and the same acceptance period, as provided under this condition, will apply).

• The postcode of the prize winner will be available on request by sending a stamped addressed envelope to Madventurer, the old casino, 1-4 Forth Lane, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE15HX.

• The prize is non-transferable and cannot be substituted for any other prize or cash value.
