South East Asia Basix
Witness an amazing combination of distinct cultures on this classic overland journey through Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. Travelling south from Bangkok to Singapore, experience three very unique countries boasting some of the best sights and scenery that South-East Asia has to offer.
These trips depart three or four times per week. The dates given here are just a sample. The trip costs £370, with a local payment of 12750 thai bahts, this should be paid on the first day of your trip locally
Days 1-2 Bangkok
Visit the opulent Grand Palace or see the world's largest reclining Buddha at Wat Pho.
Day 3 Chiang Mai
Take a walk through the old city or take time out to try a traditional Thai massage.
Days 4-6 Hilltribe Trek
Hike through hilltribe country and meet the locals en route to our village homestay.
Day 7 Chiang Mai
Check out Wat Chiang Man, Chiang Mai's oldest temple.
Days 8-9 Bangkok
This is your chance to hit the shops, so take the Skytrain or catch a water taxi to beat the city's infamous traffic jams.
Days 10-11 Khao Sok National Park
Experience an overnight jungle stay amid gibbon calls, walking trails and waterfalls.
Days 12-14 Krabi
Swim, snorkel or island-hop in Krabi. Climbing enthusiasts will appreciate the limestone massif of Khao Khanap Nam.
Days 15-16 Penang
Discover the mixture of colional architecture and traditional Chinese elements in Georgetown where crumbling shophouses, rickety rickshaws and ancient trades still thrive.
Day 17 Cameron Highlands
Enjoy fresh highland air and scenic views on any of the many walking trails around this former hill station.
Days 18-19 Kuala Lumpur
Visit old City Hall, St Mary's Cathedral or the Royal Selangor Club for a glimpse into the city's past.
Day 20 Melaka
See the remnants of the 16th century St Paul's Church or head to Chinatown for a taste of traditional Nyonya cuisine.
Days 21-22 Singapore
Have a close encounter with nocturnal wildlife at the Singapore Night Safari, or experience nightlife of a different kind on Mohammed Sultan Road.
