DAYS 1 - 7, Cape Town, Fish River Canyon, Swakopmund
Begin your safari in cosmopolitan Cape Town, with a Township tour. We then travel north to the border with Namibia, via the Western Cape. We continue to the desolate but striking Gariep (Orange) River and once in Namibia enjoy an awesome view over the dramatic Fish River Canyon. We climb the world's highest dunes in the Namib-Naukluft National Park, and walk amongst the giant sand dunes of the world's oldest desert. Enjoy the adventure activities in the coastal town of Swakopmund, (try 'dune-bashing' by quad-bike or sand-boarding), and spend the evenings in one of the restaurants and bars.

DAYS 8 - 15, Cape Cross, Etosha National Park, Okavango Delta
Travelling north along the desolate Atlantic Coast we visit the Cape Cross Seal Colony, home to some 80,000 seals. We continue through Damaraland and camp amongst the eerie rock formations at Spitzkoppe before heading into Etosha National Park in the hope of glimpsing more of Namibia's wildlife. Staying awake all night at a floodlit waterhole is a unique game viewing experience and you may see rhino and elephant come down to drink. From here continue to Botswana via Namibia's German-influenced capital of Windhoek, and head to the gateway of the Okavango Delta at Maun. Here we prepare for a wilderness experience camping amongst the tranquil islands and watery channels of the Okavango itself. With nothing but the nocturnal sounds of the African bush, a night here is a unique African experience and a wonderful opportunity to be at one with nature.

DAYS 16 - 21, Chobe National Park, Livingstone, Victoria Falls
From Maun we head north to Chobe National Park. There is the opportunity to take a morning game drive, and then to relax in the heat of the day and venture out on the tranquil Chobe River in the late afternoon on the 'fish-eagle' cruise. Moving on from Chobe we cross into Zambia and drive the short distance to the town of Livingstone, our base for exploring the Victoria Falls. This is Africa's 'adventure centre' with numerous 'adrenaline' activities typically available - white water rafting, bungy jumping, scenic flights to name a few. We view the magnificent Victoria Falls at Mosi oa Tunya National Park.

DAYS 22 - 34, Zambia, Lake Malawi, Zanzibar
From the 'Falls, continue north by-passing Lusaka to Malawi, the 'warm heart' of Africa. Enjoy a few days on the wonderfully peaceful beaches and in the warm, clear and fresh waters of Lake Malawi. There's also the opportunity to meet some of the Malawi people, some of the friendliest in Africa, on a village walk. Cross the border into Tanzania and continue toward the coast and the port city of Dar es Salaam, passing through Mikumi National Park along the way. We ferry to exotic Zanzibar to explore the intriguing alleyways of old Stone Town, learn the island's history on the Spice Tour, or relax on the northern beaches and enjoy the Indian Ocean at its best.

DAYS 35 - 41, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Nairobi
After returning to the African mainland travel north towards Tanzania's safari capital Arusha, and on the way if the weather is clear, you may catch a glimpse of the snow-peaked tip of the magnificent Mt Kilimanjaro. In Arusha there's the opportunity to shop for more East African curios, visit a snake park and a Masai village, before travelling by 4x4 to the renowned Serengeti National Park, Olduvai Gorge and Ngorongoro Crater. The Serengeti and Ngorongoro are two of the best game reserves in Africa and this is a spectacular excursion as we approach the end of our tour. Finally we return to Arusha for a last look at the bustling markets before we cross into Kenya, and pass through a barren landscape to Nairobi, Kenya's cosmopolitan capital, where the tour ends.
