Enjoy an opportunity of a lifetime, trekking to magnificent Everest's base camp. Surrounded by the world's most remote and breathtaking mountain scenery, rest overnight in local teahouses and explore the diversity of Himalayan traditions and religion. Gain a respect for the might of Everest and learn about Sherpa culture, chatting with guides who have reached the summit in the village of Phortse Gaon. Following remote mountain paths, cross glaciers, traverse valleys and climb high passes to ascend to the foot of Mt Everest, acclimatising to high altitudes on the way. From base camp, make a tough walk to Kala Pathar at 5,545 m for unforgettable views of Everest, Lhotse and the jagged peaks of this awe-inspiring region. Take it easy on the descent, calling in at Tengboche Monastery and the Sherpa Heritage Foundation, and bidding the mountain goodbye as you leave its slopes.
