13 day journey starts in Entebbe in Uganda, ˜The Pearl of Africa" travel through game parks and visit the cheeky chimps at Ngamba Island on Lake Victoria, help in a village school, white water raft on the Nile. cycle through a national park, visit the elephant sanctuary and giraffe park, camping and cooking along the way.

This trip has a local kitty payment of approx USD$393 which is made on day 1 of the adventure. 

UGANDA

We meet you on the evening prior at Entebbe at a designated Campsite where you can camp with the truck. Your transfer from Entebbe Airport to the Campsite prior to departure is arranged for you if you wish.

Days 1 - 2
Entebbe, Lake Victoria, Kampala, Full departure meeting, Drum market, Lake and Equator crossing.

Optionals: Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary 

Days 3 - 4

Queen Elizabeth National Park including a game cruise and game drive, Kabale and/or Lake Bunyoni. 

RWANDA

Days 5 - 7

Kigale, Ruhengeri and the Virungas.

TANZANIA 

Days 8 - 11

Kigale, before crossing into Tanzania at Rusomo Falls, drive through to Arusha via Mwanza and Lake Victoria, or Singida.

Optional excursions: Game drives in the Serengeti National Park* 

*Please note some months we travel into Arusha via the Serengeti National Park in the truck. This eliminates a days driving, drops the cost of the Serengeti to £115 and allows us another experience of camping in a national park with the truck. On these months the kitty payment rises accordingly. 

Days 11 - 13

Maasai Boma visit (village), Ngorongoro Crater, Mto Wa Mbu markets.

Optionals: Game drives in The Serengeti National Park, balloon safari, Lake Manyara National Park, camel safari.

 

Please note safari itineraries are given as a guide only. A safari is a journey and true journeys in Africa unfold and are of an adventurous nature. The unexpected can arise, so do allow for this. Optionals: Genocide museum and memorial, mountain gorilla trek, (Either Parc Nacional de Volcans (Rwanda) or Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (Uganda), golden monkey trek, visit to Dian Fossey's grave, orphanage and preschool visit.

The Crater and the Serengeti is a fascinatingly beautiful and wild region and a unique sanctuary for African wildlife. Ngorongoro Crater is the world's largest extinct volcano and here you can view rhino, hippo, lion, elephant, hyena, buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, impala, monkey, ostrich and flamingo. On the lucky day you might also spy a cheetah. Then from there travel across the vast grasslands of the Serengeti which is part of a revolving stage with the Mara for the herds of wildebeest and zebra on their annual migration. The Serengeti is usually at its absolute best from late December to May.
